Local Contractors

This is a draft. It is not legal advice and is not a finished contract. Have a Florida lawyer review it before you rely on it, take live money, or run ads.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Local Handyman Services LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Local Contractors (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects, uses, and shares information on https://www.my-localcontractors.com, https://www.mylocal-contractors.com, related pages, the contractor software on those sites, and the Local Contractors contractor app (together, the “Service”).

Local Handyman Services LLC

d/b/a Local Contractors

5700 Lake Worth Rd, Suite 209-5

Greenacres, FL 33415

This policy is written for the United States, including Florida. It works together with our Terms of Use.

Local Contractors is software. We are not the contractor for jobs requested or scheduled on the Service. Each contractor is a separate business. Local Handyman Services LLC may also run its own contractor account on the Service. That account is a user of the Service, not the platform itself.

2. Who this covers

Customers use the customer pages to request work, use a contractor’s client portal, and receive quotes.

Contractors (and staff the owner invites) use contractor pages and the contractor app to create a page, pay for software access, and run jobs, quotes, invoices, a calendar, books, and related tools.

Office and platform staff use a separate office login. That access is not a contractor account.

You must be at least 18 years old. We do not collect information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the Service.

3. What we collect

You give us

  • Customers: name, phone, email, job address, job notes, optional photos, messages, and whether you agree that a request can appear on the public board.
  • Contractors and staff: business name, contact, login email, password (stored hashed, not in plain text), plan choice, staff profiles the owner invites, job and invoice records, timesheets, books entries you type, logo you upload, and support messages.
  • Office staff: login and work they do in the office tools.

We do not ask for a customer card number to pay for a job. Job money is between the customer and the contractor (for example Zelle, cash, or check). The contractor records it.

When Stripe billing is on, Stripe handles plan, unlock, and (if the contractor connects Stripe) invoice card details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Until live keys are on the host, those buttons must not take real money.

If a contractor later connects a bank through Plaid in Books, Plaid handles the bank login. We receive account and transaction data needed to show a register. Plaid is not on unless those keys are on the host.

We collect automatically

  • Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, app version, and dates of use, as needed to run, secure, and debug the Service.
  • Session cookies so you stay signed in.
  • A first-party attribution cookie (source, medium, campaign labels and click flags from the landing URL, kept up to 90 days) so we can tell which public page or ad sent a signup or request. It does not store email, phone, or payment data.

We buy Google Search ads that send people to Local Contractors (contractor signup, public pages, and contractor public pages). We do not show ads on the Service itself. We do not sell a marketing cookie list. One shared Google tag (AW-18440347533) loads on every page so we can measure those visits. When a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID or Tag Manager container is set on the host, the same first-party tag records coarse funnel events (path names, plan tier labels, and an anonymous visit id). Those events do not include email, phone, addresses, payment data, Stripe ids, passwords, or private request contents. We do not add social-login buttons.

We get from providers

  • Stripe: whether a plan, unlock, or connected-account payment succeeded (when billing is on).
  • Email provider (when enabled): whether a quote or notice email was accepted for delivery.
  • SMS provider (when enabled): whether a message was queued or sent, for opted-in numbers only.
  • Hosting: logs needed to keep the Service up.

We do not collect biometric identifiers (no face scan, fingerprint, or voice print). We do not run sweepstakes or contests on the Service.

4. Why we collect it

We use this information to:

  • run Local Contractors — accounts, quotes, invoices, the client portal, contractor tools, the contractor app, and (if you use it) the public contractor board;
  • show a contractor only what they are allowed to see (their own jobs, or a public request they unlocked);
  • process software-plan and unlock fees through Stripe when billing is on;
  • send a quote or message when a person at that contractor hits Send, and only to an address or number that was provided for that purpose;
  • keep books history and records we need for accounting, disputes, and law;
  • secure the Service, fix bugs, and prevent fraud;
  • answer support you send us.

We do not use posting a request as permission to send automatic marketing texts.

We do not use personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell names, phones, or addresses to random third-party buyers.

5. Contractor files and the public board stay separate

A contractor’s job does not automatically become a public request.

A public request does not dump the customer’s phone into a contractor’s file unless that customer is already that contractor’s client, or the contractor paid to unlock a request the customer agreed could be shown.

Public board listings show what a customer agreed to post (typically city, county, state, and a description). Contact stays hidden until unlock. Unlock is optional. A software plan is not a pack of jobs and does not include free unlocks unless we later say so in writing.

Work photos stay private by default. Photos on a request are optional. A contractor must have the customer’s permission before making a photo public. Do not post a customer’s name on a public post.

6. When we share information

We share information only as follows:

  • With the contractor you chose or unlocked. If you are a customer of a contractor, that contractor and its staff with access see your job. If you posted to the public board and a contractor unlocks, that contractor sees the contact you agreed to share for that request.
  • With providers who run the Service under their own terms: hosting, Stripe (plans, unlocks, and optional contractor Connect), email and SMS when those are enabled, and Plaid if a contractor connects a bank. They are not allowed to use this data to build their own unrelated marketing lists from us.
  • If the law requires it, or to protect people from harm, fraud, or a security incident.
  • If we sell or transfer the Service, the buyer would receive account and job records needed to keep it running, under this policy or a replacement we will post.

The only time public-board contact goes to another contractor is the unlock the customer agreed to.

We do not email or text a contractor’s whole customer list when that contractor closes.

A contractor is a separate business. Once contact is in that contractor’s file (because you were already their customer, or they unlocked a request you agreed to show), that contractor’s own records and privacy practices also apply. We cannot delete a copy they already hold.

7. Email and texts

Texts go out only if the person opted in and someone hits Send. No automatic marketing texts from posting a request, joining, or paying a plan.

SMS is not live until we enable a Local Contractors number. Until then, texts may be queued and not delivered.

Quote email, when enabled, goes to the address on the job or portal login.

You can ask us to stop marketing email at info@mylocal-contractors.com. Transactional messages about an account, quote, or job you already started may still be needed to run that job.

Do not use the Service to send spam, threats, or messages that violate US or Florida law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

8. Cookies and similar technology

We use cookies and similar storage so you can stay signed in, keep a session, and so the Service works.

We do not currently set advertising cookies, sell cookie data, or run cross-site tracking for ads.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block session cookies, you may not be able to stay signed in.

9. How long we keep it

We keep account and job records while the account is open.

If a contractor closes their account from the profile page, closing is free. The public directory listing and that contractor’s public page come down. That contractor and its staff cannot sign back in. We keep job and payment history needed for books, taxes, and legal holds. We do not keep a closed contractor in the public directory.

You can ask us to correct or delete personal information we control by emailing info@mylocal-contractors.com. We may keep what the law or our books require (for example paid invoices).

10. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed contractor passwords, and access rules so a contractor sees its own files, not another contractor’s. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not send us a password in email.

11. Your choices

  • Do not post to the public board if you do not want contractors to request an unlock.
  • Photos on a request are optional.
  • Change a contractor password, or close a contractor account, from the profile page.
  • Sign out from the contractor header; sign-out returns you to the public home page.
  • Email info@mylocal-contractors.com to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, or to ask a question.

We will need enough information to verify it is you. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

12. United States privacy rights

If you are a Florida resident, a California resident, or a resident of another US state that gives extra privacy rights, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, to correct it, to delete it (subject to records we must keep), and to appeal a denial. Use info@mylocal-contractors.com. We will not require you to create an extra account just to make that request.

We do not sell personal information as that term is used in California law, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where the law requires, offer a way to opt out.

We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for advertising.

Authorized agents may submit a request; we may still need to verify the person.

13. International visitors

The Service is intended for use in the United States, including Florida. If you use it from outside the US, you understand your information is processed in the United States.

14. Other sites and contractors

Links to a contractor’s own site, Stripe, Plaid, app stores, or other pages are not our Service. Their privacy rules apply there. We do not endorse contractors. Job deals and job payments are between the customer and the contractor.

15. Mobile app

The contractor Android app is another way to use the contractor tools. It collects the same kinds of account and job information described above, plus device and app-version data needed to run the app. The app is for contractors, not a customer storefront.

16. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will also note it on the Service. Continued use after the update means you accept the new policy. If you do not, close your account and stop using the Service.
