Terms of Use

Local Contractors

https://www.my-localcontractors.com

Effective date: September 2, 2026

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This is a draft. It is not legal advice and is not a finished contract. Have a Florida lawyer review it before you rely on it, take live money, or run ads.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern https://www.my-localcontractors.com, https://www.mylocal-contractors.com, related pages, and the contractor software on those sites (together, the “Service”).

The Service is operated by Local Handyman Services LLC, a Florida limited liability company, doing business as Local Contractors (“we,” “us,” “our”).

Notices

Greenacres, FL 33415

Email: info@mylocal-contractors.com

By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will also note it on the Service. Continued use after the update means you accept the new Terms. If you do not, close your account and stop using the Service.

3. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a contract under Florida law. The Service is intended for use in the United States, including Florida.

Customers use the customer pages to request work from independent contractors, use a contractor’s client portal, and receive quotes.

Contractors (and staff the owner invites) use the contractor pages to create a page, pay for software access, run jobs, quotes, invoices, a calendar, books, and related tools.

Office and platform staff use a separate office login. That access is not a contractor account and is not the contractor close-account flow.

Local Handyman Services LLC may also run its own contractor account on the Service. That account is a user of the Service, not the platform itself.

4. License to use the Service

We grant you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose while you comply with these Terms and, for paid contractor tools, while the software plan is paid.

You may not copy, sell, scrape, reverse engineer, or resell the Service or its content except as these Terms allow, without our written consent.

We may change, suspend, or stop any part of the Service. We are not liable to you solely because we changed or stopped a feature.

5. We are not the contractor

Local Contractors is software. We are not the contractor for jobs requested or scheduled on the Service.

Each contractor is an independent business. That contractor is solely responsible for its own license, insurance, bonding, permits, safety, employees, subcontractors, materials, workmanship, and any contract with a customer.

We are not a party to the job contract between a contractor and a customer. We do not guarantee that a contractor is licensed, insured, available, or a good fit. We do not promise a background check unless we later say so in writing. We do not guarantee any job will be completed, on time, or to any standard.

A contractor listed on Local Contractors is not “Local Contractors.”

You should do your own check before hiring or working with anyone you meet through the Service.

6. Software plans, not a pack of jobs

Contractors pay a monthly software plan to use the system. Current plan prices are posted on /pricing (today: $49 / $99 / $149 per month). Paying for a plan is software access. It is not buying a pack of leads, an exclusive territory, or a promised number of jobs.

If a public request board is on, a customer must agree their request can be shown to contractors. A contractor may then pay a separate unlock fee (the amount shown at unlock) to see contact details for that request. Unlock is optional. A plan does not include free unlocks unless we later say so in writing.

We may change plan prices, unlock fees, and features. We will post changes on the Service. Continued use after a change is posted is acceptance of the new price or feature set for future billing.

7. Payments

Job money. This Service does not charge a customer’s card for a job. Job money is between the customer and the contractor (for example Zelle, cash, or check). The contractor records it. We are not the payment processor, escrow, or guarantor for job payments.

Platform fees. Software plans and board unlocks, when live billing is on, are processed by Stripe. Until live keys are on the host, those buttons must not take real money.

If a contractor connects their own Stripe account, card pay on a job invoice goes to that contractor. We do not take an application fee unless we post one.

Refunds. Plan and unlock fees are generally non-refundable once the period or unlock is delivered, except where Florida or federal law requires otherwise, or we agree in writing. Unlocking contact details is delivery of that digital access.

You are responsible for taxes on your own work. We do not give tax advice.

Never charge a card on file from this Service unless the person is completing a checkout they started. We do not store a customer card to charge later in silence.

8. Requests, contact, and photos

Contractor job files and the public request board stay separate. A contractor’s job does not automatically become a public request. A public request does not dump the customer’s phone into a contractor’s file unless that customer is already that contractor’s client, or the contractor paid to unlock a request the customer agreed could be shown.

We do not sell customer contact information to random buyers.

Work photos stay private by default. Photos on a request are optional. A contractor must have the customer’s permission before making a photo public. Do not post a customer’s name on a public post.

Do not scrape the Service, copy the database, harvest contacts, or resell other people’s job or contact data.

9. Quotes, email, and texts

A contractor may send a quote through the client portal. When email and SMS are enabled and keys are live, the contractor may also send that quote by email and text.

We only send a text if that person opted in and someone hits Send. No automatic marketing texts from posting a request, joining, or paying a plan.

SMS is not live until we enable a Local Contractors number. Until then, texts may be queued and not delivered.

You agree not to use the Service to send spam, threats, or messages that violate US or Florida law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

10. Reviews

Reviews must be honest and from people who actually used that contractor. No fake reviews, no writing reviews for yourself, no paying for a five-star write-up, no posting scraped Google reviews as if they were this site’s reviews.

We may hide or remove a review that appears fake, abusive, or unlawful. We are not required to publish every review. Reviews are the reviewer’s views, not ours.

11. Accounts

Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has it.

Provide true, current information when you register, and keep it current.

A contractor can close their account from the profile page. Closing is free. The public directory listing and that contractor’s public page come down. That contractor and its staff cannot sign back in.

We keep job and payment history the platform needs for books and legal records. We do not email or text the customer list when a contractor closes.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, looks fraudulent, or creates risk. We do not have to give advance notice if we reasonably believe delay would cause harm.

12. Your content

You keep ownership of content you upload (job notes, photos, messages), subject to the license below.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, copy, display, and process that content as needed to run the Service (including backups, the client portal, an unlock the customer agreed to, and a public photo you or the customer authorized). This license lasts as long as we need the content to operate or keep records.

You represent that you have the right to upload that content and that it does not violate someone else’s rights.

We own the Service software, design, trademarks, and Local Contractors brand. You may not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we are the contractor on a job, or in a way likely to confuse people, without our written consent.

13. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email info@mylocal-contractors.com with:

  • your contact information;
  • the URL of the material;
  • a description of the work you own;
  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized;
  • a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorized to act;
  • your physical or electronic signature.

We will look into complete notices.

14. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • break the law, or hire someone to do unlicensed work you know is illegal;
  • impersonate another person or contractor, or misstate a license or insurance status;
  • harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone, or post false contact information;
  • upload malware, scrape at scale, probe our security, or attack the Service;
  • harvest other users’ personal information;
  • post someone else’s photos or personal information without a right to do so;
  • send junk, ads, or solicitations except as the Service is meant to work (a real job request, a real quote, a real invoice);
  • share your login or sell your account.

We may remove content or accounts that violate this section.

15. Contractors and other sites

We do not endorse contractors. Any ads, prices, or work you see from a contractor are theirs, not ours.

Deals, payments for jobs, and disputes between a customer and a contractor are between those two parties. We are not responsible for a contractor being unreachable, doing poor work, or not getting paid.

The Service may link to other websites (including Stripe). Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. You use them at your own risk.

16. Internet delays

The Service depends on the internet, hosting, and third-party processors. Outages, delays, and errors can happen. We are not liable for those problems beyond what Florida law requires.

17. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, you agree we may use them without paying you and without any duty to keep them secret. Do not send us material you expect us to treat as your confidential invention.

18. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT FLORIDA LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful code. We do not warrant any contractor, any job, or any quote.

You use the Service at your own risk. You are responsible for your own hiring decisions and your own work.

19. Limit of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT FLORIDA LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THOSE DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR A CONTRACTOR’S WORK, A CUSTOMER’S NONPAYMENT, A DISPUTE BETWEEN A CONTRACTOR AND A CUSTOMER, OR A THIRD-PARTY SERVICE (INCLUDING STRIPE, EMAIL, OR SMS PROVIDERS).

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE PLATFORM FEES YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

Some states do not allow certain limits. If those rules apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and you may have additional rights.

20. Indemnity

If you are a contractor or a customer, you will defend and indemnify Local Handyman Services LLC and its officers, members, and staff against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from: your use of the Service; your content; your job or your work; your failure to hold a required license or insurance; or your breach of these Terms — except to the extent caused by our own willful misconduct.

21. Florida law and courts

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

We do not require you to arbitrate. Exclusive venue is the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you consent to those courts.

Before filing a lawsuit, you agree to email info@mylocal-contractors.com a short description of the dispute and wait 30 days so we can try to resolve it. That wait does not apply if you need emergency injunctive relief to stop ongoing harm.

22. Other

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds a part unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a part is not a waiver. You may not assign your account without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a sale of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment, or joint venture between us and any contractor or customer.

Users are responsible for following applicable law, including contractor licensing where it applies.
